Franchise History
Originally founded as the Seattle SuperSonics in 1967 (winning the 1979 title), the franchise relocated to Oklahoma City in 2008. The Thunder quickly became contenders with Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden, reaching the NBA Finals in 2012. After a rebuild orchestrated by GM Sam Presti, the Thunder now boast the league's best record behind MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and an unparalleled collection of future draft assets.
